Jebel Shams Resort is located in the Wilayat of Al Hamra in the Sultanate of Oman; it is approximately 270 KM South West of the capital Muscat.
The Resort is atop the highest mountain in Oman and is close to the edge of Oman’s Grand Canyon.
The drive up the mountain takes about 30 minutes, and part of that journey is by graded track, which we would recommend guests use 4wd vehicles, although it is passable with saloon cars.
From its humble beginnings as the Jebel Shams camping and trekking site in 2004 with six chalets and nine Arabic tents, the business has been transformed. Today the resort has twenty chalets, fifteen Arabic tents, an internationally flavored restaurant, and a coffee shop.
