The group departs from the port of Mina Raysut for a discovery tour of Salalah. Stop & smell the Holy Incense Trees. Visit the Jobs Tomb which is located more than 800mtrs above sea level and is the burial site of the Islamic & Christian prophet. Enjoy magnificent views of Salalah plains (Men should cover their knees & shoulders and women should cover their heads and wear long dresses or skirts for this visit) proceed then to the Old Souq located on Sultan Qaboos Street which is specialized for all kinds of Arabian Incense & Dhofari costumes. After this visit, we drive back through the greenery of coconut & papaya plantations before returning to the hotel.
Later on, we will depart for a discovery tour of East Salalah. We will start first visiting the East part of the region first stop will be Taqa fishing village with an interesting castle surrounded by watchtowers and Taqa stone houses, drive along the seaside location completed with a sandy stretch and a broad swath of coconut palms. Drive top of the hill where you will be able to see the whole view of the town and beach, the possibility to see dolphins and turtles, and visit the Taqa castle.
The next visit will be to Sumhuram (queen of Shaiba, the frankincense port) the ruin was the main point to dispatch frankincense, mure, Arabian horses, and slave, from the 1st century till the 7th. drive near the creek which is a haven for migratory birds like (flamingos, seagulls, ducks, herons, and waders) drive to Mir bat City the ancient capital of Dhofar, admired for its beautiful old coral Dhofari/Yemeni-style old houses some houses can reach up to 700 years old, drive through the town, visit the fishing port (see dhows and fish) later on w will drive back to the hotel.
